Exchange was conceived as a narrative installation that privileged sound over sight, creating a private experience within a public space.

Rather than relying on visual or tactile engagement, the piece used audio storytelling to immerse the audience in a single encounter told from two perspectives. Visitors chose the order in which they listened, shaping their own understanding of the event through contrast rather than instruction.

The installation explored how two people can share the same moment yet experience it differently. Each narrative focused on distinct details and emotional textures, revealing divergence through proximity rather than opposition. What emerged was not a definitive version of events, but a tension between parallel truths.

Designed to be experienced through personal devices and earbuds, the work intentionally blurred intimacy and exposure. Listeners stood among others in the gallery while remaining alone with the story, allowing the piece to function both as an installation and as a moving, internal soundtrack.

Exchange was first presented at the 2021 International Erotic Art Festival in London.
